Movie Review: Dog Days
This film is directed by Ken Marino and it stars Nina Dobrev, Vanessa Hudgens, Eva Longoria, Finn Wolfhard, Adam Pally and Jon Bass.
This film is about dogs and their influence in people. The movie takes us on the journey of several stories that are occurring simultaneously.
This film was interesting to me. It does have similarities to previous films like Mother’s day and Valentines Day where these stories revolve a certain day or in this case a certain animal species. This film tells us how people socialize with other and how they are influenced by their dogs. In some cases people find romantic love, friendships, and in one particular story a family is formed thanks to a dog. The dogs that appear in this movie are adorable and cute. My favorite story in this movie was Tyler (Finn Wolfhard) and Walter (Ron Cephas Jones). Tyler is a pizza deliver young man who one day meets Walter who is an elderly retired professor. This encounter develops into a sweet friendship that just made me happy. One thing I did not enjoy was the number of stories I had to follow (i thought there were too many) and therefore this movie was longer that I would have wanted it to be. I admit that I cried multiple times during this film. If you’re a dog lover this movie may work for you.
I give this film a 6 out of 10 .
