Movie Review: Alpha
This film is directed by Albert Hughes and it stars Kodi Smit-McPhee, Natassia Malthe, Leonor Vaerla and Johannes Haukur Johannesson.
This film is about a teenager who is separated from his family. This film takes you on a prehistoric adventure as this teenager tries to get back home as he bonds with this wolf.
This film is a decent film. Honestly I went into this film with low expectations and I was pleasantly surprised while watching it. This film is visually stunning and I was in awed while watching it. If you’re a lover of nature this film is definitely a must watch. This film did a good job recreating the prehistoric scenario. The acting was good, although I had a slight issue with the lead actor. I believe that if the lead actor had more facial expression his performance may have been more believable. Although the scenery in this movie is the strongest aspect of the film, I did enjoy the storyline between the teenager and the wolf. This film gives the impression of this being the origin of domesticated dogs. I’m aware this is a movie and I’m sure this isn’t exactly how wolfs evolved to become domesticated dogs, but please don’t go out to the wild and pet a wolf thinking you may be able to domesticate it. During the third act I did feel anxiety, as I wasn’t sure what would happen to the teenager and his companion. Overall this film exceeded my expectations.
I give this film a 7.5 out of 10
