Movie Review: Mile 22
This movie is directed by Peter Berg and it stars Mark Wahlberg, Iko Uwais, Lauren Cohan, John Malkovich and Ronda Rousey.
This movie is about a paramilitary team, who is lead by James Silva (Mark Wahlberg), that must complete a dangerous mission by safely transporting a person of interest. This person is taken from the embassy to an airfield so this person of interest can seek asylum.
I’ve heard bad reviews about this film but decided to see it myself and come up with my own thoughts. I’m not a professional film critic but even I can see that this is a bad movie. The editing is bad and I was confused for majority of this movie to the point where I was getting a headache. In some scenes the camera would shake a lot and I was frustrated when the image would go in and out of focus. The acting was ok. There was no story structure at all. There is no character development and this made me feel nothing for the characters that died or suffered. The character of Wahlberg has a rubber band on his wrist that annoyed me throughout the entire film. This film talks about Wahlberg’s character being smart perhaps being too smart, which you learn about this in the opening credits, but throughout the film it’s never shown how he uses his superb intelligence. There was one action scene I liked but overall I came out of this film mentally exhausted. Don’t see this film unless you’d like to get back at someone then this can be their punishment.
I give this a 2 out of 10 (and the two points goes to that one action scene that I liked).
