Movie Review: Avengers Endgame
This film is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and it stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Josh Brolin, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Brie Larson.
This film is the final installation of the infinity saga and it follows the events of Infinity War. The avengers are now to face the loss of half the population including family and loved ones. When they realize that their first plan isn’t going to work they must find another way to try and fix things.
Here we go!! The first reviews came out and were mainly positive. I decided to stay away from spoilers by avoiding social media and any type of socializing whatsoever. I’m giving my honest opinion and please don’t hate me if you read something you don’t agree with and don’t worry I won’t spoil anything. In a week or two I will update my review and specifically write down what bothered me in this film.
As of today I’ve seen the film twice as I had to make sure of some thoughts and questions I had. I thought this film was very good!! This is perhaps the best way to end this saga. I cried only once but I laughed multiple times. I do agree that the third act of this film is definitely the best I’ve ever seen in any comic book movie. For the entirety of it I was in suspense and that ending hit me. It’s not my favorite avengers film. I’m sure what I’m about to write may be controversial but this film is my third favorite Avengers film following the first Avengers movies and Infinity War. I do admit I did have some issues with this movie but I can’t be specific otherwise I’ll spoil it. I will say that what this film did to one specific character I found it foolish and a complete waste. I found the songs choices for this movie were quite odd. When they would play the songs it would give the entire film a whole different image. This film is definitely not a continuation of Infinity War it’s a film that stands on its own. You definitely need to have watched Infinity War to make more sense of this movie. Overall I thought I was a great film, I don’t love it though. This film definitely delivers because its an audience pleaser. Just a warning (not a spoiler) this film does not have any mid or credit scenes so if you must go to the restroom you’re safe to go right when the credits begin.
I give this film a 8.5 out of 10
