Movie Review: John Wick 3 Parabellum

This film is directed by Chad Stahelski and it stars Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, Anjelica Huston, Jason Mantzoukas, Asia Kate Dillon, and Lance Reddick.

This third installment of the Wick franchise follows John Wick (Keanu Reeves) as his protective services have been taken away for shooting down a member of the High Table. He now has a target on his back and must find ways to get to places without dying.

Oh wow! This film is definitely non stop action from beginning to end. I do believe this is the best film of the three. This film does have some action scenes that I didn’t think were possible. When the first action scene occurs you’re simply fascinated by it then you go into the second one, which is my personal favorite, and you’re more fascinated. The second fight scene (the one with knives) was well choreographed and well executed. I was in awed and suspense during the fight scenes. The editing is very well done because as much action as this film has I was never lost. The cinematography in this film is quite impressive. It had its funny moments, surprisingly. My only negative thought is that it was a bit gruesome (once or twice I may have felt a bit nauseous) and some of the fight sequences were a bit repetitive towards the end. I’m sure it says something positive about this film if it’s capable of making me feel nauseous. At the end of this film I was exhausted both mentally and even physically. Halle Berry was amazing in this movie! I absolutely loved her! I do hope to see her in future films. Keanu Reeves was amazing in this role (he was born to play John Wick). If you’re a fan of the franchise this film will not disappoint. If you’re a fan of action movies this film may be one of the best action movies of all time so go see it. Overall I had a good time in the theater.

I give this film an 8 out of 10

  1. I am actually becoming a fan of this movie just like a lot of people out there. What is good is the hype is not dying with the third movie like Matrix and we are left asking or more. Although some action is repetitive but Keanu does what he does best and action is so well executed that I wish this becomes a long running franchise.
