Oh boy…..(inhale exhale) This movie was one of the few films I was very much looking forward to this year and I’m sorry to say that I’m very disappointed. The visuals are amazing in this film and the fights between the monsters were great but….that’s it! Sadly that’s the only positive comment I have about the film. I understand that going into this film I should have not expected a great film with a strong script and great acting all around. I feel that I must clarify that I’m not a fan of trashing films because I know all the hard work that goes into making them so I will try not to be harsh. I also understand that part of being a film critic is to criticize films and give my honest opinions and thoughts about them. If you enjoy seeing monsters fighting you will have some fun with this film. I watched Godzilla as part of a double feature the first film being MA. I also admit that this is the first film I watch from this franchise. Unfortunately when I’m sitting down watching Godzilla and it’s the third act (which is suppose to be the most important act) and I’m physically watching the monsters fight but mentally I’m wondering off and thinking about what I had just watched in MA I don’t think it’s a good sign. If you’re expecting a great story, script, acting and even having some type of emotional attachment to this movie I would suggest to watch MA instead. Personally I can’t recommend to go see this film.
I give this film a 3 out of 10
